FAISALABAD:Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed throughout the district on Saturday with national enthusiasm and determination to extend full support to the Kashmiri people for their independence.
The day started with special prayers in the mosques for departed souls of martyrs of Kashmir freedom movement.
Various programs and event were held to show the solidarity with Kashmiri brethren by the citizens.
Different political, religious, social, traders and other organizations held seminars, walks, rallies, conferences and other programs to highlight the Kashmir issue and to condemn the aggressions of Indian forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
Meanwhile, City District Government also arranged Kashmir Solidarity rally. Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Labour Shakeel Shahid attended it as chief guest while MPA Chaudhry Lateef Nazar and MPA Firdous Rae were guests of honor.
Divisional Commissioner Zahid Hussain and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Imran Mehmood, Deputy Commissioner Ali Shehzad, City Police Officer (CPO) Ghulam Mubashir Mekan, CEO Health Dr Bilal Ahmad, CEO Education Ali Ahmad Siyan, President Anjuman Tajiran Cloth Board Naseer Yousuf Vohra and others were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Provincial Parliamentary Secretary said, “Kashmir is integral part of Pakistan and people of Pakistan fully stand with the Kashmiris and political, moral and diplomatic support will continue for Kashmiri people”.
He said Kashmiri people are striving hard for the last 7 decades to get freedom and they have rendered a lot of sacrifices in this struggle.
He said that the Kashmir is the unfinished agenda of partition plan under which Pakistan and India emerged as independent states in 1947.
He said that the right of the self-determination should be given to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) to decide their fate according to their own will.
MPA Chaudhry Lateef Nazar said that the independence is the right of Kashmiri people and hearts of Pakistani nation are beating with their Kashmiri brethren.
“We are reiterating our commitment that Pakistani nation will continue political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of IIOJK,” he added.
The parliamentarians saluted the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs and said that their blood would not go waste and the Kashmiri brethren would achieve independence very soon.
They also condemned the atrocities and cruelties of the Indian army on innocent Kashmiris and demanded the world organizations for taking notice of violations of human rights in IIOJK.
They said that the United Nations should play its role to get resolutions of UN relating to the Kashmir issue implemented in letter and spirit for providing right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people.
They said that the entire nation of Pakistan stands united on Kashmir issue and Kashmiri people would be supported in their struggle of independence.
Meanwhile, a rally was also arranged from Zila Council Chowk in which a large number of people belonging to all walks of life participated.
The participants holding banners and placards marched on various city roads from Zila Council Chowk to Katchehry Bazaar and chanted slogans against the atrocities of Indian forces in IIOJK.
Earlier, one minute silence was also observed to show unity and solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
Kashmir Solidarity Rallies were also held at Tehsil level in Jaranwala, Sammundri, Tandlianwala and Chak Jhumra which were led by Assistant Commissioners.
Similarly, Adviser to CM Punjab for Sports Malik Umar Farooq also led a rally at Dijkot.
The participants of these rallies also offered special prayers for early independence of Kashmir.
