Kashmiris’ freedom struggle commendable in struggling nations’ history: Saifee

Islamabad

ISLAMABAD:Parliamentary Secretary (National Heritage & Culture Division) and Member National Assembly Ghazala Saifee on Monday said the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people was commendable and unique in the history of nations striving against oppression and illegal occupation.

Talking to reporter, she said Oct 27 would mark Kashmir Black Day, adding, “I urge the people to unite with Kashmiri people as they are still suffering through atrocities and brutalities perpetuated in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK)’s a beautiful valley.”

Kashmir Black Day revived the history of Kashmiri people of losing their loved ones from all generations. Kashmiri people, she maintained, had not accepted the Indian occupation even for a day during the last 74 years, and their struggle would continue till they were provided an opportunity to exercise their right to self-determination as per their aspirations.

Ms. Saifee said the government chalked out a comprehensive program to observe the day in a befitting manner through highlighting brutalities and massive human rights violations being committed by the Indian troops to suppress the indigenous freedom struggle of Kashmiris who want their legitimate right to self-determination in line with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

She said, “We will hold public gatherings, rallies, walks, and protest demonstrations at district and tehsil levels across the country, including AJK and GB amid all Covid-19 measures.”

Each year, October 27 is observed as Kashmir Black Day to mark protest and resentment by Kashmiris around the world in commemorating the forced occupation of the valley by the Indian Occupation Forces.
