PESHAWAR:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has intensified work on digitalization and paperless governance system to increase efficiency and transparency in government departments.
An official of Science and Information Technology Department said that 170 sub-matters and procedures of 32 government departments would be digitized.
Under the digitalization process, files, notifications, correspondence and other matters would be digitized.
A steering committee under the chairmanship of the Minister of Science and Information Technology has been constituted to oversee the entire digitalization process.
Minister of Science and Information Technology, Atif Khan said that that the process of assessing the requirements of government departments for the project has already been completed and the process of acquiring software would be completed soon.
He said process of digitization of the government system would not only improve the performance of government officials but also speed up the work of public interest.
He said that digitalization was aimed to improve service delivery and replacing traditional and outdated system in the province which would not only save time but would also improve efficiency.
The minister said digitization process in all departments was important step towards digital Pakistan initiative.
