PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Department and Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) were working on construction of 1230 flats measuring 780 sq ft each at Jalozai Housing Scheme under “Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme” for low income group.
An official of the Housing department told this agency that PHA and KP Housing department have already signed an MOU for construction of flats on 150 Kanal of land in Jalozai housing scheme Nowshera and the cost of each flat would be Rs 2.5 million.
He said that flats would be given to public and private employees and residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province whom monthly income would be less than Rs 40, 000, adding, as per the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan different banks would provided soft loans to the people for purchase of the flats on easy instalment basis for a period of 20 years.
In addition to this, he said as per the announcement of Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide house to every government employee and general public, PHA and KP Housing department had already started work on construction of as many as 8000 grey structure houses measuring four different sizes on 8500 kanal of land in Surzai area in Peshawar.
He said that under the project, allotment letters of all the 8000 houses have been issued through transparent balloting process. The project involves 30 percent quota for employees of KP government, 20 percent for the federal employees, 35 percent for general public, 5 percent for merged districts, 2 percent for employees of PHA, Housing and Works, KP Housing Authority and KP Housing department, 5 percent for Overseas Pakistanis and 2 percent for media.
He said that houses were divided into four categories, adding that in Category 1 there were 900 houses measuring 50×90 sq ft and cost of each unit was Rs 11.45million. Similarly, in Category 2 there were a total 1800 houses measuring 40×80 sq ft and the cost of each unit was fixed at Rs 9.05 million.
In category 3, a total 2800 housing units measuring 30×60 sq ft were being constructed which would cost Rs 5.88 million each to the purchaser while in category 4, there were 2500 houses measuring 25×50 sq ft with a price of Rs 3.31 million each.
