LAHORE:The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) distributed 400 containers and 200 handcarts among the field teams in Gulberg Town on Friday.
Provincial Minister for School Education Dr Murad Rass was the chief guest at the ceremony, which was conducted at Makkah Colony.
LWMC Chief Executive Officer Rafia Haider briefed Dr Murad Raas on the making and distribution of 6,000 new containers and handcarts. She also elaborated various steps taken by the LWMC to further improve cleanliness situation in city.
While talking to the media, Dr Raas appreciated the efforts of LWMC for making the city clean. He stated that the LWMC made a new system to ensure the best possible and cost-effective cleanliness arrangements in the city.
He urged people to come forward and cooperate with the department to improve cleanliness situation in the city. He said that the government was following the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and fully committed to providing the best civic facilities at people’s doorsteps. He added that zero tolerance policy would be adopted to maintain cleanliness across the city.
