FAISALABAD: A sessions court Thursday awarded life imprisonment to a man for killing his friend over a minor issue.
According to prosecution, the convict Imran had killed his friend Ghulam Dastagir over a minor dispute some time ago.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Farooq Anwar Joiya pronounced the judgment after examining evidence and final arguments from both parties.
The court awarded life imprisonment to the accused and also directed him to pay Rs 100, 000 as compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased.
In case of default on payment, the convict would have to undergo further six months imprisonment.
