LAHORE: Spokesman of the Punjab government Fayyazul Hasan Chohan said after Sehat and Kisaan card, the PTI government had made a history by introducing Mazdoor card which would revolutionize the living of common man. The issuance of Mazdoor card for the labourers was a pride for Punjab government led by Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and the scope of this card would be expanded to the whole province, he said. He said that with the support of Punjab Bank, 1.1 million workers would get Mazdoor Cards and about 68 million people of the labourers’ family would also be benefited from this card. Fayyazul Hasan Chohan said the Mazdoor Card would be used as ATM, Debit Card, Wallet Account and Identity Code. He said the card would not only be used in hospitals and dispensaries of Social Security Institute throughout the province but also in the enlisted private hospitals. The card will give 11 cash benefits to its recipient besides ensuring the minimum wages to the labourers. Workers could get benefits from Industrial Workers Housing Schemes and Akhuwat through Mazdoor Card, while a 30 percent discount could be availed on various products of 150 companies, he said. Concession would be given to the workers from railways, stores and private schools whereas work was underway to interlink Sehat Card with Mazdoor Card, he added.
