Minister visits Nishtar Burn Unit

MULTAN: Provincial minister for Women Development Ashfa Riaz paid a visit to Nishtar Burn Unit on Thursday and inaugurated Day Care Centre here.

Provincial Secretary of Woman Development Ambreen Raza and Pro-vice-chancellor Nishtar University Dr Ejaz Masood accompanied the minister.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said women should be empowered on maximum level to uplift society.

She said day care centres were being set up to facilitate working women to discharge their duties in fruitful manner.

Ashfa Riaz said educating women alongwith giving them confidence stood top priority of incumbent government.

She said Punjab government had earmarked Rs. 400 million for setting up day care centres in different cities.

She said about 146 centres got functional, while funds were released for 67 others which were under process.

Secretary Ambreen Raza said that all-out facilities for upbringing children including healthy food and recreational activities were provided at the centres.

Chairman Pak Italian Burn Centre Dr Naheed Ahmed Chaudhary gave briefing about the functioning of hospital with facilities offered to patients admitted into the health unit.
