ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue on Tuesday discussed and recommended that the Bill the Federal Government Properties Management Authority Bill, 2021 (Ordinance No. XV of 2021) may be passed by the National Assembly, with slight amendments.
The 70th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue held in Constitution Room (old Committee Room No. 5) Parliament House,
Islamabad, under the chairmanship of MNA Faiz Ullah.
The Committee discussed the Micro Finance Institutions (Amendment) Bill, 2021 moved by Ms. Sajid Begum, MNA briefed the salient futures of the Bill and informed the Committee that Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are suffering due to lack of facilitation to provide loans to the SME sector.
She said that this Bill is basically empower the women in Pakistan in small medium industries.
The Committee directed that all Banks and stack holders may be called in its next meeting.
Considering the agenda regarding non-provision of relief to consistently drought-affected smallholder farmers of Thal area who are unable to repay their outstanding loans of Zarai Taraqqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), the Committee directed the President ZTBL to provide the comprehensive report on the measures taken by the ZTBL for facilitating the farmers in Drought Affected Areas.
Discussing the agendas regarding, the State-owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Bill, 2021, and non-formulation of regulatory framework for crypto-currency in the country, the Committee directed that the next meeting will be called on the above said agendas with taking all the stack holders/experts onboard in this regard.
The Committee deferred the following Bills/matters due to shortage of time till its next meeting , including , ” The Modaraba Companies and Modaraba (Floatation and Control) (Amendment), Bill, 2021 and The Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Limitation (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
The committee also calling Attention No.12 regarding charging of enormous electricity bills from tube well consumers despite providing them subsidy (moved by Sardar Talib Hassan Nakai, MNA).
The meeting was attended by the hon. Members of the Committee namely, Jamil Ahmed Khan, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Chaudhary Khalid Javed, Dr. Nafisa Shah, Sadaqat Ali Khan, on video link Amjad Ali Khan, Ms. Aisha Ghous Pasha, Ali Pervaiz, Faheem Khan MNAs, besides the senior officers from M/o Finance and Revenue, State Bank of Pakistan and M/o Law and Justice.
