ISLAMABAD: Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Wednesday examined the audit report for the year 2019-20 of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
The committee met here at Parliament House under the chairmanship MNA Rana Tanveer Hussain and discussed the compliance report regarding charging of Rs.25 by NADRA for issuance of vaccination certificates.
Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik said that vaccination certificates were already subsidized to facilitate people.
He said that NADRA is not a commercial entity. The committee recommended reviewing the charges of Rs. 100 for issuance of vaccination certificate. The committee recommended that vaccination certificate issuance charges should be reduced to Rs. 25.
It also discussed and settled the audit para regarding non-recovery and non-delivery of Afghan citizen cards.
The committee also examined the audit para regarding non-recovery on account of provision of Electronic Result Transmission System (ERTS).
It was informed that during the audit of NADRA for the years 2016-2018 it was observed that management entered into an agreement with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for preparation of software ERTS on February 12, 2018.
The committee also discussed the loss due to non-recovery of dues from BISP on account of National Socio Economic Registry (NSER) services.
The committee decided to write a letter to BISP in this regard. The committee also took up the audit para regarding non-recovery on account of the computerized Arms license system. Members of the committee Leader of the House in the Senate Dr. Shahzad Waseem, MNA Riaz Fatyana, MNA Munaza Hassan, MNA Sana Ullah Khan Masti Khel, MNA Syed Hussain Tariq, MNA Rohale Asghar, MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and Khawaja Sheraz Mehmood attended the meeting.
