LAHORE:A six-member delegation of the Total Parco Pakistan Private Limited (TPPL) visited the Pakistan Railways (PR) headquarters here on Thursday and exchanged views with the Railways officials a possible collaboration between the two organisations.
TPPL delegation was led by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mehmet Celepoglu, while Pak Railways team was led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nisar Ahmad Memon. The Pak Railways CEO told the visiting delegation that the annual fuel requirement of the Railways was 150 million litres and it spends around Rs 20 billion per annum on it.
Pakistan Railways Advisor/ Executive Director Business Development Farooq Hyder Shaikh briefed the TPPL team about transformation journey of Pakistan Railways. He said that the organisation’s focus had been on transforming Pakistan Railways into a customer-centric entity, while technology had been the key enabler for its growth.
The PR CEO said that Pakistan Railways was striving to provide maximum facilities to its passengers and mentioned that 70 million passengers avail the services of Pak Railway network per annum.
He said that there were 14 locations where Pakistan Railways had the capacity to store fuel, adding that it was exploring the option of installation of fuel dispensers at these sites, and outsourcing the maintenance of these sites by specialised oil marketing companies.
Total Parco Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd CEO Mehmet Celepoglu said that the TPPL had strong financial position and was providing fuel to many companies/ institutes across the world. The TPPL team was also informed that Pakistan Railway was initiating a campaign, ‘Clean Green and Beatification of Pakistan Railways’ in line with Prime Minister’s initiative of ‘Clean Green Pakistan’.
The CEO TPPL appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan’s initiative “Clean Green Pakistan” project, which would create a positive impact on the environment.
Later, the two sides exchanged souvenirs.
Additional General Manager (AGM Traffic) Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, AGM Infrastructure Asif Mateen Zaidi, AGM Mechanical Salman Sadiq Shaikh, Chief Operating Superintendent (COPS) Sufyan Sarfraz Dogar, Director Public Relations Nazia Jabeen and other officers were present.
