ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) soon regarding Halal exports to facilitate export process of Pakistan’s halal products to UAE.
The MoU will be signed between Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) and Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA).
This was agreed by the Federal Minister for Science and Technology Senator Syed Shibli Faraz and Ambassador of UAE to Pakistan, Hammad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Alzaabi during a meeting held here Tuesday.
The ambassador called upon Senator Syed Shibli Faraz in his office today.
The aforementioned agreement will facilitate the export process of Halal products from Pakistan to UAE, thus benefiting Pakistani exporters.
Both discussed various collaborations between UAE and Pakistan in the field of Science and Technology.
Moreover, the Ambassador on behalf of UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology invited the Federal Minister to attend the upcoming Dubai Expo 2020.
The Minister was invited to address Fourth edition of Global Manufacturing and Industrialization Summit (# GMIS2021) as a distinguished Speaker.
The Minister ensured enthusiastic participation under leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan and said that it would be an honour to be a part of a distinguished global platform.
Speaking on the occasion, the federal minister said “Bilateral ties between UAE and Pakistan are historic and are based on years of brotherhood and mutual trust. UAE is an important country and Pakistan looks forward for strengthening these relations further”.
The Minister further opined that creation of economic opportunities is fundamental and is the need of time and Dubai Expo provides an important platform in this regard.
The Ambassador ensured cooperation particularly in the field of Science and Technology in future as well.
