MUZAFFARGARH: Paramedics Association Punjab demanded CM Punjab to register them with Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) and issue drug licenses to hold private practice.
Addressing to the convention convened here on Tuesday, president of Paramedics Association Shakeel Malik asked the government to resolve their problems, otherwise about 300,000 paramedics working in different health institutions of Punjab, would stop performing their duties and start protest, said Paramedics Punjab Provincial Chairman.
He said DHQ Hospital, THQ Hospital, Rural Health Centers, BHUs, Social Security, Rescue 1122, NGOs and various places were also providing services without supervision of doctors.
“It is strange that in the public sector we are allowed to work as qualified till 2 pm but after 2 pm we are not allowed to work in private sector as we are considered unqualified persons” he said.
Our clinics were sealed and cases were registered is unjustified option, he said, adding that the dual standard was unacceptable.
The convention was hosted by Dr. Ibrahim Jan, President, Paramedics Union local district.
