ISLAMABAD:Punjab Commission of the Women Rights (PCSW) has launched a toll-free helpline 1043 available 24/7 under its Women Safety application initiative aimed at ensuring protection of women against harassment and human rights abuses.
According to the details, PCSW and Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for early redressal of complaints pertaining to Cyber Harassment.
Commission of the Women Rights (PCSW) Helpline after taking initial information would refer the matter to the FIA for necessary action. Moreover, one female lawyer and clerk from PCSW would visit FIA Office daily, and jointly conduct follow-up of complaints.
The helpline would register complaints pertaining to gender discrimination, property disputes and inheritance rights, domestic violence, hostels, day-care centres and other facilities for working women.
Reporting of women issues would help increase women’s participation in government decision making bodies, quota for women in public sector jobs, skill development, changes in employment policies, various other socio-economic and legal issues.
