FAISALABAD:Postal services will be digitalized to provide new innovative services in addition to improving the existing facilities, said Malik Naseer Ahmad Senior Post Master Pakistan Post here in a meeting with Atif Munir Sheikh President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) on Friday.
He said that parcel service was improved while 75% concession would be offered to the bulk suppliers of parcels.
Malik Naseer said that Pakistan Post was already providing facility of same day delivery through General Post Office (GPO) and its post offices in Madina Town, People’s Colony, Ghulam Muhammad Abad and Nishat Abad. “We are launching a mobile app to further facilitate our clients”, he said and added that three new sub post offices were being set up in Makoana, Kharrianwala and Chak Jhumra.
He highlighted that a counter of GPO will also be set up in M3 industrial estate to provide postal services to the industrial sector.
The FCCI President said that Pakistan post has its presence throughout the width and breadth of the country,adding that the department improved their services considerably through switching over to digital mode.
He said that people in general and business community in particularly used this channel for the safe and speedy delivery of their parcels.
He suggested that Pakistan post should launch a vigorous campaign for its publicity.“People must be educated so that they could divert their parcels and posts from private to this public sector entity and requested Post Master General to provide a comprehensive list of their services along with its tariff so that FCCI will circulate it among its 8000 members’,he added.
Rana Fayyaz Ahmad Vice President FCCI,Omar Daraz Marketing Officer Urban Area, Sheikh Tanveer Sultan Marketing Officer Postal Division and Rana Shamsul Haq Assistant Manager Express Post were also present in the meeting.
