PPP, PML-N responsible for deprivation basic needs from poor people: Shibli

ISLAMABAD:Minister for Science and Technology Senator Shibli Faraz on Wednesday said that leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-N, were responsible for depriving the people of basic needs.

The PPP and PML-N leaders had been involved in corruption and money laundering activities, he said while talking to a private television channel. Ex Finance Minister of PML-N had found fudging figures to maintain foreign currency in Pakistan, he added. The PPP leaders who had been ruling in Sindh, could not provide basic necessities of life to the people of their respective areas, he stated.

Lauding the efforts of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government, he said many developed countries had to face economic and price hike issues during COVID pandemic.

He said Pakistan had managed to control pandemic with success besides stabilizing economic sector.

In reply to a question about mini-budget, he said the government imposed taxes on luxurious items.

He said all important steps were being taken to increase exports and decrease imports.

To another question regarding Governor State Bank of Pakistan, he said the credit went to the PTI government for making the SBP an independent institution of the country.
