HYDERABAD:Divisional president Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Nadeem Qazi on Tuesday termed Sindh Local Government (Amendment) Bill-2021 as “Democratic Terrorism” and said a law passed on the basis of majority will never be accepted.
Addressing a press conference here at the local press club, PSP leader said PPP wanted to spread linguistic politics for the sake of political benefits.
Nadeem Qazi said with the efforts of PSP chief Syed Mustafa Kamal and Anis Qaimkhani, peace was restored but the provincial government of Pakistan People’s party was spreading ethnic hatred in Sindh.
He said that the powers of local bodies had been transferred to the provincial government by amending the law and LG institutions were made powerless.
Nadeem Qazi said that in the era of General Pervez Musharraf, which the PPP calls a dictatorial era, the local bodies had 47 departments whereas they would have only 21 departments after the present amendment.
He alleged that the PPP wants ethnic riots in Sindh while our leadership had played an important role in restoring peace in urban areas of the province.
Qazi said they would continue their peaceful struggle against black LG law but would not allow the people of Sindh to fight.
Shahbaz Abidi said that there was going to be massive irregularities in delimitation of the constituencies in Hyderabad which would have serious consequences.
He alleged that the population in the entire district was being divided on the basis of language in such a way that the majority of next elected representatives would belong to only one class.
He said that the three points of Syed Mustafa Kamal were the only solution to the problems that the funds being transferred from the federation to the province should be honestly distributed among the districts and powers should be given to the local bodies.
