ISLAMABAD:The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Friday, losing 257.04 points, with negative change of 0.54 per cent, closing at 47,055.29 points against 47,312.33 points on the last working day.
A total of 399,093,247 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 376,447,665 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs13.768 billion against Rs12.267 billion the previous day.
As many as 407 companies’ transacted shares in the stock market, 139 of them recorded gain and 252 sustained losses whereas the share price of 16 companies remained unchanged.
The three top traded companies were World Call Telecom with a volume of 39,177,500 shares and price per share of Rs3.42, Byco Petroleum with a volume of 38,439,000 and price per share of Rs9.99 and Telecard Limited with volume of 24,594,000 and price per share of Rs15.07.
Siemens Pak witnessed maximum increase of Rs44.49 per share, closing at Rs 637.82.
Colgate Palm was runner up, share prices of which increased by Rs28.20, closing at Rs2810.72.
Sapphire Fiber recorded a maximum decrease of Rs 44.99 per share, closing at Rs855 followed by Wyeth Pak Ltd, the share prices of which decreased by Rs31.88 per share, closing at Rs 1987.50.
