PSX loses 399 points to close at 45,940 points

ISLAMABAD:The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Thursday, losing 399.72 points, with a negative change of 0.86 percent, closing at 45,940.04 points against 46,339.76 points on the last working day.

A total of 285,968,670 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 243,148,960 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 9.272 billion against Rs 9.938 billion the previous day.

As many as 367 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 123 of them recorded gain and 222 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 22 companies remained unchanged.

The three top trading companies were Telecard Limited with a volume of 45,410,917 shares and price per share of Rs17.51, TPL Properties with a volume of 16,954,000 and price per share of Rs34.19 and WorldCall Telecom with volume of 13,715,000 and price per share of Rs2.18.

Rafhan Maize witnessed a maximum increase of Rs200 per share, closing at Rs10600 whereas the runner up was Premium Tex, the share prices of which climbed up by Rs44.98 to Rs704.99. Nestle Pakistan witnessed maximum decrease of Rs149.99 closing at Rs5500 followed by Bata (Pak)XD , the share price of which declined by Rs49.80 to close at Rs 2100.
