PSX loses 599 points to close at 45, 749

ISLAMABAD: The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Friday, losing 599.03 points, with a negative change of 1.29 per cent, closing at 45, 749.15 points against 46, 348.18 points on the last working day.

A total of 192, 466, 529 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 269, 512, 154 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs7.664 billion against Rs9.488 billion the previous day.

As many as 345 companies’ transacted shares in the stock market, 92 of them recorded gain and 236 sustained losses whereas the share price of 17 companies remained unchanged.

The three top trading companies were Unity Foods Ltd with a volume of 14, 885, 418 shares and price per share of Rs29, Ghani Glo Hol with a volume of 14, 548, 500 and price per share of Rs33.09 and Byco Petroleum with volume of 14, 298, 000 and price per share of Rs7.

Unilever Goods XD witnessed a maximum increase of Rs1080 per share, closing at Rs19479 whereas the runner up was Sapphire Tex, the share prices of which climbed up by Rs70 to Rs1300.

The share of Colgate Palm witnessed minimum decrease of 137.49 closing 2431.01 followed by Ismail Ind, the share price of which declined by Rs37.85 to close at Rs467.15.
