RAWALPINDI:The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Thursday has issued notice to illegal housing scheme Discovery Garden.
According to RDA spokesman, on the directives of Director General RDA, the MP&TE was taking strict action in accordance with the law against illegal housing schemes.
He informed that notice was issued to the administration of illegal housing scheme namely Discovery Garden, Chakri Road Rawalpindi and directed to stop illegal advertisements and development work. An application for registration of FIR has also been submitted in the police station concerned on violation of the rules, he added.
He said, the Director MP&TE RDA Jamshaid Aftab had directed the administration of the illegal housing scheme to stop illegal advertisements and warned of strict action if the development work and advertisements were not stopped.
The spokesman informed that RDA had advised the general public not to invest in any illegal and unauthorized housing scheme. The citizens can check the status of the housing projects from the MP&TE Directorate or visit RDA website rda.gop.pk. to know the position. The RDA had also requested Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) and PTCL not to extend services to these illegal housing schemes, he added.
