MULTAN: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Syed Khurram Ali Friday terminated an inspector from service over links with drug peddlers and misuse of power here.
Taking action on the repeated complaints against Station House Officer (SHO) Sadar Jalalpur Pirwala police station Inspector Umer Daraz, the RPO Syed Khurram Ali ordered an inquiry against the officer.
During the inquiry against him, links with drug peddlers was proved while misuse of power was also confirmed by the inquiry committee. The RPO terminated him from service.
The regional police officer said that there was no space for corrupt officers in the department and added that protection of public lives and properties was duty of police and no negligence would be tolerated in this context.
