PESHAWAR:Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Peshawar and Public Health Association (PHA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here to jointly promote research work for the benefit of the communities.
The MoU was signed by Vice Chancellor SBBWU Dr Razia Sultana and President PHA KP Dr Saima Abid under which they would also work to create awareness on breast cancer.
On the occasion, an awareness seminar was organized to sensitize students about breast cancer.
Addressing the participants Dr Atifullah Director IRNUM Cancer hospital said the prevalence of breast cancer was 99 percent in females and one percent in males and therefore it was known as breast cancer.
He said that a human life affected by breast cancer could be saved if the disease was diagnosed and treated timely; for which he said that females should be sensitized and educated about the disease.
He advised females to exercise regularly and eat healthy and balanced food in their daily routine and timely consult doctors in case of any suspicious lump with little or severe pain in the chest.
The seminar was attended by Chairman KP Standing Committee for Health MPA Rabia Basri as a chief guest while students and teachers were also present on the occasion.
