ISLAMABAD: The Senate Functional Committee on Government Assurance on Monday discussed the framework/work plan for meetings of the committee to be convened in the future.
The committee met here at Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Kamil Ali Agha on Monday.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Muhammad Afridi and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan assured the committee his full cooperation in resolving the issues raised by the members. He said that will work with the committee to resolve the problems.
The committee discussed the question regarding provision of 4G service in some areas part of UC Salhad Tehsil and District Abbottabad with particular reference to Dehr Mera and adjoining areas.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTI) officials informed the committee that 4G service was available in the area, but there was problem due to hilly area. The officials said that PTA regional office would take more steps to further improve the service.
Chairman of the committee said that the committee would discuss the common man problems and efforts will be made to resolve it.
Deputy Chairman Senate Mirza Muhammad Afridi said that the presence of ministers make proceedings of the Parliament more effective. He said that if a member has asked a question, he should be present in the committee meeting.
The committee was also briefed regarding the maintenance/ repair and white wash works of Category-II government accommodation I-8, Islamabad.
The committee was informed that 15,000 government houses and other buildings were maintained by Capital Development Authority (CDA).
The committee also discussed the issue regarding installation of ATM machines in the National Bank and Muslim Commercial Branches in Tehsil Darband District Mansehra. The officials informed the committee that ATM machine was installed in Tehsil, Darband.
The committee directed that ATM facility should be ensured for 24 hours. The meeting was also attended by Senaor Musadik Malik, Senator Rana Mahmoodul Hasan, Sania Nishter, Shamim Afridi and Dr. Hamayun Mohmand. The meeting was also attended by officials of the relevant ministries and departments.
