PESHAWAR: The personnel of Chamkani police station here on Tuesday foiled an attempt of narcotics smuggling to Punjab through a passenger van and arrested three smugglers during intelligence based operation.
SHO Chamkani, Haroon Jadoon informed the media that a tip-off was received about smuggling of hashish to Punjab upon which snap checking was conducted on GT Road. He said a passenger vehicle was signalled to stop and after a thorough search 22 kgs hashish was recovered from its secret compartments.
He said three narcotics smugglers identified as Musharraf, Rizwan Ali and Shoib were arrested and shifted to the police station for further interrogation. The accused belonging to Peshawar, Kurram and Khyber district were the active members of an organized narcotics smugglers gang, the SHO added.
