MULTAN: Commissioner Multan Division Dr. Irshad Ahmed Wednesday directed officials to conduct technical survey on three underpass projects in city, with an aim to facilitate masses by addressing traffic problems.
The commissioner visited Timber Market, along with Deputy Commissioner Aamir Karim and Provincial Parliamentary Secretary on Information and Culture Nadeem Qureshi.
The officials gave briefing to the visiting delegation about underpass projects. The commissioner directed officials to conduct survey in Grass Mandi, Timber Market and Tughlaq Town.
Usually, the traffic remained stuck up at these sites. The only way to provide relief to masses is construction of three underpasses. He, however, added that the government had already earmarked funds of Rs 760 millions for construction of underpass projects in the city.
Deputy Commissioner Aamir Karim stated that each rupee of public taxes would be spent on welfare projects. Similarly, the uplift projects would be completed within stipulated time period.
