KARACHI:Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Karachi on Friday claimed arresting two robbers and recovered snatched cash Rs. 6 million out of total snatched amount of Rs. 7.5 million.
According to SSP SIU Capt. (Retd.) Haider Raza, arrested accused Muhammad Akmal and Muhammad Mujahid on June 1st, 2021 had robbed a citizen Umar-ul-Islam who was on his way to home after withdrawing cash Rs. 7.5 million from a bank with his friend Kashif. Arrested accused also injured Kashif during robbery.
The incident took place at Bohrani Road near Bohri Jamait Khana, PIB Colony. Case of incident was registered at PIB Colony PS.
SSP Haider Raza told reporter that arrested accused during interrogation revealed that out of total snatched Rs. 7.5 million, they had cleared their debts with Rs. 1.5 million. Accused told the police the amount was used to repay their debts taken for autorickshaw, house loans, liquor bought on credit etc.
Both accused also confessed their involvement in number of other street crimes.
SIU registered two cases against arrested.
Further investigations was underway.
