LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore on Saturday conducted a draw to select three employees from teaching, administrative and others sections to perform Umrah. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the ceremony and announced the names of three lucky winners. The faculty and administrative staff were also present. According to the draw results, Associate Professor Dr Haroon Akbar of the Parasitology Department and Agriculture Officer Muhammad Saeed Ahmed were selected from faculty and administrative staff, respectively, while Robina Shaheen was among the employees of grade-1 to 15. VC Prof Nasim congratulated the winners and advised the employees to work hard for development of the UVAS and the country. Meanwhile, Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) Vice Chancellor Prof Hina Tayyaba Khalil called on Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad and discussed various areas of collaboration for the promotion of academic cooperation. Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad briefed her about the UVAS academic, research, extension, advisory services and training programmes.
