ATTOCK: As the crackdown continues against underage drivers and others having unlicensed vehicles or bikes in the Attock district, 12 more youths were sent behind bars.
The Attock traffic police launched a crackdown against underage drivers continuously following a lethal accident in Lahore, which claimed lives of six members of a family, including two infants and two women.
During the crackdown in the past 24 hours, the police arrested 12 drivers and registered cases against them. As many as four each were arrested in Attock city, Fatehjang and two each in Hassanabdal and Jand.
The number of underage drivers sent behind bars so far reached 42 in the Attock district. The purpose of the campaign is to discourage violators and further, reduction of fatal accidents.
