RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi police in an action against suspected drug peddlers conducted raids in different areas and rounded up 13 accused on recovery of over 19 kg charras.
According to a police spokesman, Sadiqabad police held Abdul ur Rehman for having 2200 grams charras and a female drug smuggler on recovery of 1680 grams charras.
Taxila police rounded up Ghulam Mustafa with 1460 grams charras and Fardoon for possessing 1400 grams charras.
Westridge police netted Abdul Haq for carrying 1400 grams charras and a drug peddler namely Muhammad Arshad on recovery of 1300 grams charras.
He further informed that Pirwadhai, Saddar Wah, R.A.Bazar, Rwp Cantt and Airport police arrested Javed, Muhammad Abbas, Shan, Iqbal, Faheem, Zeeshan and Ahmed Ramzan for possessing 1060, 1060, 2200, 1690, 1500, 1750 and 1100 grams charras respectively.
Separate cases have been registered against all accused while further investigations are underway.
City Police Officer, Rawalpindi had directed the police officers to accelerate ongoing operations against drug peddlers, bootleggers and other lawbreakers, he added.
