RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested 13 gamblers and recovered bet money of Rs 1,06,000, and 10 mobile phones from their possession during a crackdown here on Sunday.
Race Course police conducted a raid and held gamblers identified as Khuram, Chan Pervez, Jahangir, Noor Shah, Javed, Adil, Syed Khuram, Junaid, Munir, Sarfraz, Khuram Shehzad, Jawad and Bilal Khan.
Police have registered separate cases against all of them and further investigation was in progress.
SP Potohar Nasir Nawaz congratulated the Race Course Police and said that gambling is the root of other social evils and the accused cannot escape from the grip of the law.
