ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police apprehended 16 outlaws from different areas of the federal capital during the last 24 hours also recovered drugs and weapons from their possession.
A public relations officer on Friday said that responding to the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police has intensified its crackdown against the criminal elements to eliminate crime from the city.
Following these directions, the Aabpara police team arrested two accused namely Muhammad Kashif and Mujahid and recovered 590 grams hashish and one iron punch from their possession. The Karachi Company police team arrested an accused namely Ashraf Masih and recovered one 30-bore pistol from his possession.
Likewise, the Golra police team arrested an accused namely Imran Khan and recovered one 30-bore pistol from his possession. The Industrial Area police team arrested an accused namely Mukhtiar and recovered one pistol from his possession.
Similarly, the Noon police tea
m arrested an accused namely Muhammad Zubair and recovered 230 grams heroin from his possession.
The Phulgran police team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Asif involved in illegally refilling gas cylinders.
The Bhara Kahu police team arrested an accused namely Awais and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession.
Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
During the crackdown against proclaimed offenders and absconders, the Islamabad Police teams arrested eight absconders and targeted offenders from various areas of the city.
DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza directed the police officials to further intensify the crackdown against the criminal elements. ‘Safety and security of the citizens is our foremost priority and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard’.
The citizens are urged to cooperate with police and report any suspicious activity through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or via the “ICT-15” app for immediate assistance.
