Faisalabad: A joint team of the Livestock Department and Punjab Food Authority, during a raid, seized 16 kilograms of unhygienic meat from Saddiq Abad area here on Friday.
According to official sources, taking legal action against the accused, the team imposed a Rs 50,000 fine on him.
After a detailed inspection of the meat, the livestock team declared the meat unhygienic for human health and disposed of it on the spot.
Livestock Director Dr Sajid Iqbal said that measures are being taken to supply only hygienic meat to the people and legal action is being taken against illegal slaughter houses and those involved in selling substandard meat.
