FAISALABAD:As many as 19 Ramazan Bazars have been established in Faisalabad to provide daily use commodities on subsidized rates during the holy month of Ramazanul Mubarak.
This was told by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ali Shahzad during a briefing, here on Wednesday.
Giving some details about Ramazan arrangements, he said that these bazaars were set up in Riaz Shahid Chowk Islam Nagar, Millat Road near Star Petroleum, Factory Area Sir Syed Town, Akbar Chowk Gulistan Colony,
Faizan-e-Madina Chowk Susan Road, Fowara Chowk near Kashmir Park, Model Bazaar Jhang Road, Iron Market D-Type Colony, Kaleem Shaheed Park Narwala Road, Adda Sadhar Jhang Road, Cchatriwali Ground Jinnah Colony, near Dijkot police station, Gojra Road near Rickshaw Stand Sammundri, Chiniot Road near Jinnah Park Chak Jhumra, Quaid-e-Azam Road near Bus Stand Tandlianwala, Pul Saim near Rail Bazaar Mamonkanjan, Sahulat Bazaars near PTCL office Jhumra Road Jaranwala and Jaranwala Road Adda Khurarianwala.
He said that stalls of fruits, vegetables, grocery, agriculture fair price shops, meat and other kitchen items were being set up in addition to making arrangements for sale of sugar and flour on controlled rates. He informed that foolproof security would be provided by installing CCTV cameras in these bazaars in addition to facilitating the visitors with parking facilities, cleanliness, medical camp, etc.
He said that strict daily monitoring of Ramazan Bazaars would be carried out to ensure supply of fresh food items to the consumers. Special Price Control Magistrates would also remain active during the whole month to check profiteering and overcharging in the markets, he said and asked the shopkeepers to avoid from overcharging or be ready to face the music as strict action would be taken against the profiteers without any discrimination.
He said that a District Control Room would also remain active at DC Office to monitor the prices in addition to redress the public complaints regarding price hike.
He directed the duty In-charges/staff of Ramazan Bazaars to perform their duties with passion and commitment so that maximum relief could be provided to the masses during Ramazanul Mubarak.
