MIRPURKHAS:The first Commissioner’s marathon race was successfully concluded on Sunday in Mirpurkhas.
Divisional Commissioner Mirpurkhas, Faisal Ahmed Uqeli, was the chief guest of the first Commissioner’s Marathon Race at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Sports Stadium (Gama Stadium) in Mirpurkhas.
Addressing the gathering, the commissioner credited the success of the first Commissioner’s Marathon Race to the people of Mirpurkhas, highlighting ongoing efforts by the division and District administration to promote Sports.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mirpurkhas Dr. Rashid Masood Khan also said that the District administration of Mirpurkhas is making every possible effort to popularize Sports and encourage the youth who are fond of Sports.
Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, SSP Adil Memon and others who won prominent positions in the three categories of the winners and others gave cash prizes and medals.
In the special person’s category, Iqbal of Gulistan Mazoreen secured first place, Salahuddin second and
Naveed third. In the boys’ marathon, Zeeshan claimed first, Ghulam Murtaza second, Harchand third, Umar fourth, Sulaiman fifth, and Aman Baloch sixth. For the girls, Lali took first place, Muskan second and Maria third.
The winners received cash prizes and medals as follows: 1st place – 25,000 cash and a medal, 2nd place – 15,000 cash and a medal, 3rd place – 10,000 cash and a medal, and players in the 4th to 6th positions received a cash prize of 5000 rupees each.
District Officer of Sports, Muhammad Bakush Kapri, social leaders, school teachers, students, journalists, citizens, and fans participated in large numbers at the prize distribution ceremony.
People from various walks of life, as well as ordinary citizens, appreciated the efforts of Commissioner Faisal Uqeli and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rashid Masood Khan.
