Quetta: Balochistan Police have arrested 108 suspects and seized a large cache of arms and ammunition during ongoing an operations during last three weeks.

Police spokesperson informed that police have intensified their province-wide campaign against proclaimed offenders, fugitives, and habitual criminals, said a press release issued here on Sunday.

The crackdown was being carried out under the clear directives of Inspector General Police (IGP) Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, with a zero-tolerance policy against criminal elements to ensure the safety of law-abiding citizens across all seven ranges of the province.

Recovered items include 93 revolvers and pistols, 10 Kalashnikov rifles, 8 shotguns, 544 bullets and cartridges, and 78 magazines. In parallel operations against drug traffickers, police arrested 96 suspects and seized 153.7 kilograms of hashish, 8.5 kilograms of crystal meth, 120 packets of ice, 560 grams of opium, 226 grams and 210 packets of heroin, 124 kilograms of dried cannabis, 660 bottles of
liquor, and 144 beer cans.

The press release further stated that 58 proclaimed offenders, 272 fugitives, and 615 suspects involved in various crimes were taken into custody, while 11 abducted persons were safely recovered. Police also recovered 9 stolen vehicles, 20 motorcycles, 8 mobile phones, Rs. 142,500 in stolen cash, and 3,296 cartons of smuggled Iranian cigarettes.

Additionally, four vehicles and 14 motorcycles were impounded for violations under Sections 550 and 114, while tinted glass was removed from 3,764 vehicles.

The spokesperson emphasized that police personnel have been instructed to adopt courteous and respectful behavior with the public, resolve complaints promptly at the station level, and ensure transparency in all proceedings. Coordination with police in other provinces is ongoing to verify criminal records and exchange data, aimed at preventing the free movement and concealment of offenders across districts and provinces.

The statement concluded that operations against criminal elemen
ts would continue without interruption to maintain law and order and provide a safe environment for the people of Balochistan.

Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited the village of Babri in Hanna Urak to review the ongoing counter-terrorism Operation Shaban. During the visit, he met with police personnel actively engaged in the operation and praised their bravery, determination, and professional competence.

The police force expressed pleasure at the Chief Minister’s presence among them and raised resounding slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in his company. Bugti said that the sacrifices of security forces in the fight against terrorism were a source of pride for the entire nation.

He reaffirmed that operations against terrorists and their facilitators would continue with full force until the last terrorist would be eliminated. ‘The war against terrorism will not stop until sustainable peace is established in Balochistan,’ Sarfraz Bugti declared.

Later, the Chief Minister met with the families of martyrs of the Hanna Urak tragedy, offering condolences and prayers. He assured them of complete government support and assistance, emphasizing that the sacrifices of the martyrs will never be forgotten.

CM Sarfraz Bugti stressed that the government remained committed to ensuring lasting peace in the province, and counter-terrorism operations would continue indiscriminately until the menace would be eradicated.

Quetta: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail lauded the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for its pivotal role in guiding public sector universities, supporting academic excellence, and aligning national education standards with global benchmarks.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Governor Mandokhail highlighted that despite geographical challenges and limited resources, HEC has acted as a vital bridge between vision and reality. He noted that continuous support in teaching, research, and institutional development has laid the foundation for progress in higher education across Balochistan.

Jaffar Mandokhail praised HEC Chairman Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and his team for their dedication, saying that hundreds of PhD and MPhil scholars were now delivering quality education in provincial universities, equipping students with modern knowledge and market-driven skills. He emphasized that faculty development programs, scholarships, and research grants have played a central role in this transformation.

The Governor underscored HEC’s multi-dimensional contributions, including setting and enforcing quality assurance standards, promoting knowledge-based research, and ensuring equitable access to higher education even in remote districts. He added that through funding, policy guidance, capacity-building initiatives, and international collaborations, HEC has enabled universities to pursue innovation, modernization, and socio-economic development.

‘Today, the impact of HEC is visible in every classroom and research laboratory across the province,’ Mandokhail said, pointing to improvements in faculty strength, curriculum modernization, laboratory upgrades, and digital infrastructure. He noted that over the past two years, persistent efforts, strict monitoring, and strategic planning have significantly improved the ranking and scoring of Balochistan’s public sector universities.

Governor Jaffar Mandokhail concluded that this progress reflected a shared commitment to building a knowledge economy, with HEC standing as a steadfast partner in stabilizing the higher education sector and ensuring access to quality education for all.

Quetta: Security forces killed three more khwarij terrorists as the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police continued a Joint Operation Shaban following the terrorist attack on Mangi Dam Police Station.

Security sources said the total number of terrorists killed during Operation Shaban has risen to 67.

They said multiple ground and aerial operations against Fitna al Khwarij are continuing in the area. Since July 5, security forces have killed a total of 105 terrorists in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations, the sources added.

The operation will continue till elimination of last terrorist.
