Hyderabad: The officials of UNICEF and Sindh Social Welfare Department visited the office of Rescue 1123 on Wednesday to review the range of services which are being offered by that organisation.

The spokesman Dilbar Halepoto informed that UNICEF’s Ambreen Mastoi and the Social Welfare’s Sheeza were given a detailed briefing by Emergency Officer Roshan Ali Mahesar.

He apprised them about fire fighting, medical emergencies, urban search and rescue, disaster response and other services which they were providing.

He added that they were also dealing with emergency complaints pertaining to gender based violence and child protection.

The two officials appreciated the services which were being offered by Rescue 1122 and assured of their complete cooperation.

Faisalabad: Water and Sanitation Agency Managing Director Saqib Aziz has clarified that strict legal action is being taken against those involved in stealing, buying and selling covers of manholes.

He said that WASA free helpline 1334 is fully functional 24 hours a day and citizens can inform about missing manholes at any place, which will be covered within a short time.

Meanwhile, WASA citizen liaison staff visited Jamia Saeedia, Marzipura and delivered a lecture to students about missing manholes and free helpline 1334.

Rawalpindi: City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera has ordered the registration of a case against three Dhamyal Police Station officials after an inquiry confirmed corruption allegations against them.

According to a Rawalpindi Police spokesperson, the action was initiated after a citizen lodged a complaint alleging corruption by officials of Dhamyal Police Station.

On the CPO’s directions, an immediate inquiry was conducted. After the allegations were found to be true, a criminal case was registered against the three officials, identified as Hamza, Sayab and Naseem, and they were arrested.

The CPO also ordered the suspension of the Station House Officer (SHO) of Dhamyal Police Station for negligence of duty and directed that a charge sheet be issued against him.

Sukhera said corruption, abuse of authority and negligence in official duties would not be tolerated under any circumstances, adding that strict action would continue against any official found involved in misconduct.
