HYDERABAD:Police have arrested 5 accused including two injured robbers in an encounter with a dacoit gang here on Tuesday.
The Hussainabad police patrol team, acting on a tip-off, arrested five suspects travelling in two cars near Indus River protective embankment after exchange of fire while their other accomplices managed to escape, spokesman said in a statement.
The arrested suspects include Abdul Hameed Ghangro, Arif Jalbani, Saleh Jalbani, Zulfiqar Jamali and Amir Thaheem, the spokesman said.
As a result of police encounter, two accused Abdul Hameed Ghangro and Arif Jalbani were injured and shifted to hospital for immediate medical treatment.
The spokesman added that a Suzuki Alto car, four TT pistols, one shotgun, cash oint and mobile phones were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused.
The cases against arrested and absconding accused were registered at P.S Hussainabad and investigation was started.
