Quetta: The Balochistan Sports Department has organized a grand Quetta Marathon Race to promote healthy activities among youth, revive sports culture, and encourage positive social behavior. The marathon formally commenced from Airport Road, Quetta.

The marathon was inaugurated by Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs Balochistan, Meena Majeed Baloch, while Secretary Sports Balochistan, Durra Baloch, also actively participated to motivate young athletes.

A large number of youths, students, athletes, sports officials, and citizens from diverse backgrounds took part in the race, showcasing strong enthusiasm for sports and fitness.

Addressing the participants, Advisor Meena Majeed Baloch said the provincial government is giving top priority to sports to ensure that youth remain healthy, active, and skilled.

She emphasized that sports not only improve physical health but also play a vital role in mental development, discipline, and fostering a positive mindset, while steering young people away from negative activities.

She noted that the youth of Balochistan possess immense potential, and the government is taking practical steps to support them through improved sports infrastructure, organization of competitions and provision of modern facilities.

She added that events like the Quetta Marathon boost youth confidence and project a positive image of the province.

Meena Majeed Baloch highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, reforms are being introduced in the sports sector along with new projects and opportunities for youth, enabling them to showcase their talents at national and international levels.

On the occasion, Secretary Sports Durra Baloch added that the Sports Department is making comprehensive efforts to promote sports activities across the province and assured that similar events will continue to be organized in the future. He urged young people to make sports a regular part of their daily lives.

The Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs appreciated the performance of the participants and announced that more sports events will be organized across Balochistan, providing youth with greater opportunities for healthy competition and positive engagement.
