Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Police, on the special directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, have intensified their crackdown against illegal kite sellers here Sunday.

As part of the ongoing operation, two kite sellers were arrested and a large quantity of kites and string was recovered.

According to police, Gujar Khan Police held kite seller and recovered 2,000 kites along with 100 spools of kite string.

In a separate action, Chaklala Police arrested another kite seller and seized 400 kites and six spools of string from his possession.

Separate cases have been registered against both suspects, and further legal action is under way.

Police spokesperson said that kite flying had been declared a non-bailable offence due to the serious risks it poses to human life. The Rawalpindi Police warned that those involved in this dangerous and often deadly activity would not be spared and would be dealt strictly under the law.
