Lodhran: The District Population Welfare office Health and Population department, organized an Educational Family Planning Fair at Children Park Lodhran with the support of the Punjab Family Planning Program.

The ceremony was graced by Additional Commissioner General (ADCG) Lodhran, Liaqat Ali Gilani, as the Chief Guest while District Health Officer Lodhran, Dr. Riaz, as the Guest of Honor.

Addressing the gathering, ADCG Liaqat Ali Gilani emphasized that recreational and educational activities playef a vital role in bringing positive change to society. He stated that such events were essential for promoting social and mental well-being. He added that the Punjab Government was utilizing all available resources to ensure citizens’ health, cleanliness, safety, and quality education. He appreciated the District Population Welfare Office for organizing the fair in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, terming the initiative encouraging and commendable.

District Health officer, in his address highlighted the various healthcare and population welfare services being provided to the public. He remarked that a balanced and healthy society formed the foundation of national development.

Speaking on the occasion, District Population Welfare Officer, Tariq Sukhera, stressed that maintaining a balance between population growth and available resources was the need of the hour. He warned that the rapidly increasing and unplanned population has severely affected Pakistan’s resources and environment. He urged all segments of society to play a constructive role in addressing this critical issue.

The Educational Family Planning Fair featured a variety of recreational and awareness activities, including cultural Jhoomar performances, a Qawwali night, swings for children and families, food stalls, and games. Healthy child competitions, quizzes, speech contests, and national song competitions were also organized. Schoolchildren presented educational tableaux highlighting social and health-related themes.

Winners of various competitions were awarded trophies, prizes, and gifts, while shields were presented to distinguished guests. Souvenirs bearing the Health and Population department logo were distributed among participants.

The event witnessed active participation from lawyers, journalists, teachers, parents, women, and members of different walks of life.

The attendees praised the Health and Population department for conducting educational and recreational programs during the fair.
