LAHORE:A grand operation against electricity theft is currently underway, led by the Lahore police.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana told the media on Sunday that this year, a total of 7,899 cases had been registered against 8,506 individuals involved in electricity pilferage.
The CCPO revealed that within the city division, 1,596 First Information Reports (FIRs) had been lodged against 1,641 offenders charged with electricity theft. In the Cantt Division, 1,988 FIRs were filed against 2,157 culprits, and in Civil Lines, 659 cases were registered against 779 individuals.
