ISLAMABAD:The Senate on Thursday passed eight government bills including the Higher Education Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the NFC Institute of Engineering and Technology Multan (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the National Textile University (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the National Rahmatul-Lil Aalameen Wa Khatamun Nabiyyin Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Life Insurance (Nationalisation) (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Archival Material (Preservation and Export Control) (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Centres of Excellence (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the National College of Arts Institute (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
The bills were moved by Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik and Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani in the House.
The House also incorporated certain amendments proposed by Sherry Rehman in the NFC Institute of Engineering and
Technology Multan (Amendment) Bill and the National Textile University (Amendment) Bill.
The House passed all the bills through clause-by-clause reading.
