LAHORE: Acting upon the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider is leading initiatives to curb illegal profiteering and ensure fair pricing of essential goods in Lahore.
In the last 24 hours, the district administration, conducted inspections at 2,588 points and detected 347 violations, resulting in the registration of cases against 110 individuals. Out of these, 83 have been apprehended. Various areas, including Cantt tehsil, City tehsil, and Model Town, underwent rigorous inspections, with a total of 1,780 points checked. Additionally, Tehsil Raiwind and Tehsil Shalimar witnessed inspections at 808 locations.
This month, over 21,000 locations have been inspected, leading to the registration of 857 cases. As a result of effective monitoring, prices of onions, potatoes, tomatoes, and lemons have witnessed a decline. Meanwhile, prices of lentils, chickpeas, and gram have remained stable.
