LAHORE: The diminutive opening batsman Abid Ali had a short batting session in the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday.
In a short video issued by the PCB media-cell here, the opening batsman looked in good shape and attended the light knocking session without much exertion.
In December 2021, Abid Ali had suffered from acute coronary syndrome while batting for Central Punjab in a
Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match. He had to undergo angioplasty. He has responded well to the treatment and is hopeful of making a come back to the cricket field.
“The hard times are over and I feel better with every passing day. My medical reports are encouraging and my health is improving day by day, ” a gleeful Abid said.
He said he had restarted the cricket activity under the advice of the doctor who allowed to take part in light net-session. “I have enjoyed my net-session today and I hope to return to full cricket in the next three months, ” the opening batsman hoped.
He asked for prayers from his fans so that he recuperates early and returns to domestic and international cricket for Pakistan.
Abid Ali said he yearned to don the green cap on a cricket field again in the shortest possible time and perform for the country.
