Lahore: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab in its ongoing crackdown against corrupt elements, arrested a WASA inspector and a Wildlife Department inspector in separate trap raids in Lahore.
According to an ACE Punjab spokesperson, the Lahore Anti-Corruption team arrested WASA Inspector Ehsan Ali Khan red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe from a citizen. The inspector had allegedly demanded a bribe from the citizen for the installation of a water connection.
In a separate trap raid, the Anti-Corruption Lahore team arrested Wildlife Inspector Muhammad Rizwan. The inspector, along with Wildlife Department constables Muhammad Afzal and Nafees Nazir, had allegedly demanded a bribe in exchange for granting permission for hunting.
The Anti-Corruption teams conducted the successful trap raids in the presence of a magistrate and arrested the accused officials. Marked currency notes were recovered from the accused on the spot, while separate cases have been registered against them, the spokesperson said.
