PESHAWAR:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority Peshawar continued action against the adulteration mafia here on Friday.
The spokesperson of the Food Authority said that the food safety teams conducted a surprise raid on the meat manufacturing units located in Firdous and destroyed more than 5000 kg of chicken bones.
He said that unhealthy and substandard meat was being prepared by adding color to the chicken bones through the machine.
He said that such mincemeat has to be supplied to make Chapli and Seekh Kebab and other items.
Two units were sold, owners arrested, and action initiated under the Food Safety Act, he added.
Director General Food Authority Shah Rukh Khan said that such elements should avoid playing with the health of citizens and defaming the entire industry.
He said that strict action would be taken against these businesses.
