MULTAN:Additional Inspector General of Police (IGP) South Punjab, Dr Ehsan Sadiq extended crackdown against drug dealers after completion of its 15-day across the South Punjab.
According to a directive issued here on Friday, he said the crackdown was being extended for another seven days as it brought positive results in decreasing crime ratio.
He directed all district police officers of the South Punjab to bring more improvement in performance during the extended date.
During the 15-day crackdown, a total of 1900 cases have been registered against drug dealers during the crackdown while 1800 drug peddlers and 116 drug dealers have been arrested.
The Police have also recovered 580 kg hashish, 54,000 litre liquor, 17,000 litre premature liquor, 46 kg heroin, 31 kg opium, 1000 kg hemp and three kg ice during the crackdown while 185 distilleries have also been unearthed so far.
On the other hand, 35 drug addicted have been shifted to drugs rehabilitation centers, police sources added.
