AI-based recruitment system ProMetriX introduced in Balochistan

Quetta

Quetta:In line with Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti’s vision of promoting digital governance and establishing a merit-based system, the provincial government has taken a major step towards transparent and technology-driven recruitment. The People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) Balochistan has launched ProMetriX, an artificial intelligence (AI) powered digital recruitment and assessment system.

The new system automates the entire hiring process from job advertisement to final appointment, minimizing human intervention and eliminating discretionary powers, nepotism, paper leaks, and doubts over candidate selection. Applicants submit their forms through PPHI’s online portal, after which the system issues QR-coded admission slips. Shortlisted candidates undergo identity and credential verification via NADRA, followed by mandatory computer-based testing.

A key innovation of ProMetriX is the replacement of traditional panel interviews with standardized video responses, evaluated through AI algorithms. This reduces the risk of bias and undue influence in candidate assessment.

Using this system, PPHI successfully completed large-scale recruitment for 652 positions, including Lady Medical Officers, gynecologists, pediatricians, specialists in infectious diseases, cardiology, dermatology, psychiatry, and pulmonology.

Another hallmark of ProMetriX is instant result compilation. Merit lists are generated automatically upon completion of tests, and appointment letters can be issued without bureaucratic delays. The initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to transparency and public trust, while setting a precedent for merit-based recruitment in other departments.

Officials noted that expanding ProMetriX across government institutions could further strengthen governance reforms and establish a replicable model for other provinces. The adoption of AI and digital technology in Balochistan marks a significant step towards modern administration, ensuring merit, efficiency, and credibility in public sector hiring.
