AJK PM orders to operational cardiac OPD functional in 60 days

MIRPUR [AJK]: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan on Thursday directed to operational the Out Patient Department (OPD) of the cardiac hospital within 60 days.

“Cardiac surgeons and other professional staff should be appointed immediately on a 24/7 basis, and incinerator should be installed for the disposal of waste material originating from the hospital”, the Prime minister said while visiting the health care facility near Bank Road in the State metropolis.

PM AJK said elevators should be installed in the hospital for the convenience of the patients and instructed the public health secretary to re-evaluate the allocation of wards in terms of the sensitivity of the cardiac hospital and the convenience of the patients.

“In case of non-availability of professional human resources, professional staff from other provinces should be taken on contract basis”, he said.

He directed that special arrangements should be made for quality equipment, machinery, furniture and safe disposal of bed linen.

The Prime Minister directed that a counter should also be installed at the entrance of the cardiac center with wheelchairs and stretchers facilities for the patients pouring in the hospital to ensure delivery of immediate first aid / health cover.
